WHAT IS PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION (PM&R)?
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Rehabilitation Medicine in short) is a new speciality with the concept of providing comprehensive services to persons suffering from any inability to carry out their routine Activities of Daily Living (ADL). PM&R is a speciality recognized by Medical Council of India. The Doctors specializing in PM&R need to do special post-graduation degree courses after the basic MBBS degree. These specialists then head a team of various therapists to give Rehabilitation Medicine its multidisciplinary character.
